
Day 1: Upon your arrival at the Chihuahua Airport, you will be met by your bilingual guide and be transferred to Hotel San Francisco, located right in the center of downtown Chihuahua. After you check in, we will take a taxi to the restaurant “El Retablo” which is a fair distance from your hotel, but worth the time getting there! This nicely decorated restaurant has exquisite Mexican and international fine cuisine.

Day 2: After breakfast, we will leave the hotel and go on a tour around the modern and historic city of Chihuahua. On this tour, you will be visiting the key places of The Independence War and the Mexican Revolution. After finishing this tour, we will start our drive by van to Creel, our next destination. We will spend the night at the Sierra Lodge hotel. Here you will enjoy the luxury within the simplicity in this rustic hotel in the middle of the woods, at the homestead of Cusarare outside Creel.
If the time permits, we recommend a walk to the Cusarare waterfall, only 1 hour away from your hotel.

Day 3: Following breakfast, we will be transferred to the train station to catch the “che-pe” the only passenger and tourist train in Mexico! Today’s destination is Posada Barrancas. Our lodging tonight will be at the rim of the Hotel Mansion Tarahumara where you will admire the view of three canyons from your room balcony! This is a spectacular and unforgettable location!

Day 4: This morning, we will take a 2 ½ hour tour and see three different views of three canyons, the Urique, Tararecua and Copper. Here you will see breathtakingly beautiful canyon vistas. You will also see impressive displays of handmade crafts made by the Raramuri Indians and other artists.
We will come back to the hotel, check out, have lunch and be transferred to the train station to get our eastbound train to Cerocahui. Our lodging for the next two nights will be at the Hotel Paraiso del Oso, located at the Huetoibo valley, 6 km away from Cerocahui village. The Oso hotel, with a rustic and comfortable personality will make your stay a delight.

Day 5: Today we will have a fabulous and adventurous day. After breakfast you will visit the Cerocahui village and its mission from the 17th century. Then we will leave the valley and start our climb little by little, crossing some Raramuri homesteads. We will arrive at one of the most beautiful overlooks, “Cerro Gallego” where we will admire the Urique canyon, deepest canyon. A little later we will continue our adventure by driving down to the bottom of the canyon to the mining town of Urique.
On this impressive drive you will be amazed by the variety of environments we cross. We will pass through oak pine forests, scrub oak and then tropical vegetation. You will also see a beautiful variety of tropical fruit trees. We will comeback to the hotel and top off this great day’s tour with a good bath and margaritas! And of course we will have a great dinner!

Day 6: Morning free to relax or hike in the surrounding area. There are a number of hikes around this valley, excellent for birders and people who love wild flowers.
After lunch, about 1:30 pm, we will be transferred to the train station to take the train to our next destination, the beautiful colonial town of El Fuerte, with more than 400 years of history. We will see waterfalls, tunnels and bridges, as we say goodbye to these beautiful canyons. But the trip isn’t over yet!
Arriving at El Fuerte, we will be transferred to the Hotel El Fuerte a beautiful Mexican colonial style hotel! We will have dinner at this hotel.
After dinner, we will see some lively, energetic and colorful dances! These traditional and local dances will really bring the culture to you!

Day 7: After a good breakfast; we have a walking tour around this beautiful old town. About mid morning we will leave for Topolobampo Bay, the third deepest bay in the world. This bay was and still remains a site for visionaries, dreamers and developers. We will enjoy a lunch at the “Maviri” beach, well known for its great sea food!
To finish off this day, we will take a little drive around the bay and then go back to Los Mochis and check into the The Plaza Inn, one of the best hotels in the city, with all its great services at your disposal! Dinner will be on your own!

Note: If you are the kind of person that likes simple local places, just let us know, and we will direct you! There are many great inexpensive restaurants in Mochis!
Day 8: Depending on your flight schedule, we will agree on what is the best time for breakfast. Your guide will meet you again this morning to take you to the Los Mochis airport and say goodbye to you there!
